SpringHill camp

Today we picked the kids up at SpringHill Camp. When we arrived at camp, we had to claim the kids' bags. Then we went to get the cards to claim our kids & to get their meds. We also signed the kids up for next year. We really love SpringHill's dedication to reaching kids for Christ and encouraging them to grow in Christ.

We then went to the amphitheater to wait for the program to begin. Isn't this just beautiful? This is one of my favorite places at camp. I love the water lilies & all the trees. Just a little spot to sit and enjoy God's beautiful creation.

To begin the program, all the kids came from behind the stage, walked across the stage & then came & sat down. The youngest kids, Redbrush 1-3, stayed on the stage. Jessica is on the left & David on the right. Can you find them?

After each group was introduced, the camp director, Carey Edgren, shared a little about their week at camp. This year, he also did a daily video blog telling us what was going on at camp each day. I loved it!

Camp

Today we took the kids to camp.

Here are the kids with their water bottles from Papaw &

their passes to get on the Firetruck to go to their cabins.

Jamie's cabin area is called Walnut Grove. It is a brand new area.

The 4 walled tents are called Mary, Laura, Carrie & Grace.

I know the kids are going to have a great time. I'm so thankful we have an awesome Christian camp so close by that our kids can attend.

 

June 3, 2012

Sunday was graduation Sunday at church. Jamie graduated from 6th grade into the Jr High/High School group. Not sure how I feel about that yet. But I do know she looked beautiful as always.

Jamie is the last one on the right. The lady in purple is Miss Pat, our Children's director. She has overseen Jamie for the last 9+ years. The man on the left is Justin. He is in charge of our jr high & high school kids. Jamie is excited to be in his class now.

The sermon on Sunday was about the armor of God & being a soldier. We sang a lot of battle hymns. At the end, the kids sang "I'm in the Lord's Army." Here the kids are practicing. Jessica is in front row on far left. David is in the middle of top row in the maroon shirt & vest. The kids did a wonderful job.

ShowSpazz Weekend

Last weekend, we had our friends, the Showalter family over. Jeff & Jeff have been buddies since high school! Here's a few pics from our weekend!

StarCraft was the game of choice. Here the kids are playing. Usually Jeff, Jeff, Josh & I played. David joined us for a few games.

This was just a peek at our weekend. We had pizza, burgers, Mexican buffet & lots of donuts, ding dongs & chips. We played StarCraft & RockBand. We watched movies & the kids played. It was just the perfect, fun, relaxing weekend we all needed!
